The IQ app provides advanced mapping and automated features, but it does not have no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing navigation system provides greater maneuverability, and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, though it is prone to get caught up in rug tassels, and its iHome speaker lets you operate the robot by voice commands.
In our tests, we found that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to remove lots of debris on floors that were unfinished, and a fair amount of medium-pile rug. It was less effective on shag carpets where it struggled to get at dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It was capable of navigating the legs of chairs, tight spaces, and the base of a wooden IKEA step stool. We did notice it was a little slower on bare floors however it soon recovered speed and performed more thoroughly than the other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better choice than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a bigger dustbin, a longer battery life and is more adept at navigating around obstacles. It also comes with mopping attachments that are able to deal with sticky mess. On the other side the iRobot is more durable and has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement, incurs lower recurring costs and can even create virtual no-go zones with its companion app. It can continue cleaning from where it left off, even if its battery runs out before it has finished. The iRobot can be controlled by voice, which is a huge plus for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S from Eufy isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum around, but it does offer excellent cleaning power check here at an affordable price. If it encounters them it halts and emits a loud sound so you can manually steer it around the obstacle and then get back to work.
Another great feature of the eufy11S is its BoostIQ mode that allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match the floor type and level of mess. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S where you'd like it to move.
If you don't have much furniture in the space where you'd like to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.
Edge Cleaning is another option that can limit the time that is spent on each area to 20 minutes. This will maximize the battery's life. This option allows the eufy to move in a spiraling fashion, cleaning corners and edges.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a great mid-range vacuum cleaner that is a winner on carpet. Its performance is also excellent on floors that are not bare. It can remove rice and other fine particles easily. The suction power doesn't drop as the dirt bin fills. Its air-sealed design and allergy-friendly design snuff out allergens to keep your family safe. It comes with an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin, so you don't need any additional filters or a vacuum bag.
It's not as powerful as pricier models, but it's still great for tackling dirt and deep cleaning. It has two front cameras that deliver live feeds to your smartphone. It also has one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It has a large bin, a long running time and the ability to clean up quickly and without bumps.
